The digital platform 'Consumer Complaint Management System' or CCMS has been officially launched to resolve consumer complaints in a quick time. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the service app on Consumer Rights Day at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Agargaon of the capital. Through this now every step from receiving consumer complaint to settlement will be completed through technology. As a result, the concerned parties feel that there will be no need for the consumer to appear in person in other processes except for the hearing of the complaint.

Ministry of Commerce Senior Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh presided over the event, Federation of Industry and Commerce Association (FBCCI) President Md. Jasim Uddin, Vice President Mostafa Azad and President of Consumers Association of Bangladesh Golam Rahman and Director General of National Consumer Rights Directorate A. H. M. Safikuzzaman was presen at the event.

It was informed that 25 percent of the penalty amount against consumer complaints will be paid in digital or e-payment instead of cash.

On January 18 this year, the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection officially launched the Consumer Complaint Management System (CCMS) software and web portal for the realization of consumer rights. After launching the portal, they received 4 thousand complaints till March 13.

Until now, the 'CCMS' system, which was only being run experimentally in Dhaka, started its journey as a pilot project from March 15. If it is proven successful, it will be implemented in the entire country, said Director General of Consumer Affairs Directorate AHM Safikuzzaman.
